John K. - City to Bay

City2Bay fun run was so challenging physically and psychologically, towards the middle of the run, were I willing to throw the towel in, however, what stop me from doing so, was a little voice in my head, I thought it was my conscious, but, it was Hien’s strategies that assisted me physically and mentally to pursue my goal to complete the run. Seeing the finishing line in the distance and passing through the finishing line, I was astounded that I achieved one of my goals to finish city2bay fun run for charity.

I have to be honest, with Hien’s preparation for the city2bay vigorous /energetic training package, goal setting, motivational techniques and providing the essential information such as tips for hill running, types of hill running, how to keep running, focus on breathing, carbohydrate loading and his personal experiences in previous runs, without this information and enthusiastic/ dynamic training package, I personally don’t think I was able to complete the city2bay fun run.

Chelsea C. - City to Bay

Experience of city to bay training: The Sunday sessions were a great way to train for the race because Hien made us aware of the different types of training we should be doing to make sure we were at our best for the race. Each week was a new experience which I definitely loved to hate. The social interaction was great too and it made running the city to bay a very memorable experience that we shared not only with ourselves but also each other. We were able to train at our own pace but still trained as a team so that by the time it got to the day of the city to bay we were a very close knit team.

During the whole race and even more so once I had crossed the finish line I knew that the Sunday training sessions had paid off as much as they hurt at the time. Being able to meet up with the group in the tent after the race was also really good because even though we had all run the race individually, we had grown as a team and were just as interested to know how everyone else had gone on the day. Running down Anzac Highway I was very proud to be running in the Fitness 24 singlet and to know that I was part of such a great team of people.

I have been a member of a local gym for the past 6 years and attend group classes 5-6 times a week. In this time my body shape has changed dramatically, however during the last year I was becoming unmotivated and I started to put on weight again.

I decided that I needed someone to bring the excitement back into my workouts and a ‘refresher’ about what I wanted to achieve out of my visits to the gym. I began Hien’s City to Bay Training and within the first week my excitement about exercise had returned! My original goal was to complete the 6km run, I completed the 12km run in just over an hour!

After completing the ‘City to Bay’ training and 2 months of training sessions with Hien, my fitness level has improved dramatically! Hien has given me the motivation and encouragement to push myself that little bit harder to achieve my desired goals. Each session is unique, challenging and most importantly, fun! Hien’s training is not a ‘one off’ session; it’s a training program for the week/month/year. He sets realistic goals for each session and sets goals for the week. I look forward to my workout and the homework he sets each week. It gives me achievable goals both short term and long term.

Hien knows what I am capable of and what I want to achieve. He pushes and encourages me to reach my goals. I have found Hien to be very professional and personable. Hien’s energy, attitude, extensive knowledge and his ability to understand his client’s needs make him a great personal trainer!

Hien’s sessions introduced me to the missing elements in my fitness. His whole-person approach to exercise enabled me to take my fitness to the next level. My motivation has returned and I am the strongest and fittest I have ever been!

Hien’s holistic approach to personal training is what separates him from other trainers. A ‘genuine’ passion for health, fitness and overall wellbeing for his clients shine through in every session. He is focused on helping me reach my goals providing continuous encouragement which reinforces the inner strength to strive and push that little bit harder. This encouragement has enabled me to break through those ‘I give up’ barriers and has shown me that yes, I can keep going.

Hien has helped me achieve a weight loss of 30kg’s so far and without his encouragement, motivation and support I would have struggled on that journey alone. Inspiration from a person you believe in is enough to make you believe in yourself. Thanks to Hien I am now more focused and disciplined and will achieve the goals I have set for myself.

Six months ago, Hien told me that come September, I would be running the 12km City to Bay fun run. He was talking to a girl who had barely run before in her life and wasn’t even certain she could. I had clearly been working with Hien for around 4 months prior to that and had gone from unfit and flabby to fitter and significantly less flabby but running most certainly wasn’t in my vocabulary. As I become fitter, Hien’s workouts have become harder, extending me beyond what I thought my limits were and proving to both of us that when I say I can’t do it, I really can. I am now feeling fit and happy getting sick less often and well on the road to having the flat stomach I have always wanted. Oh yeah, and I can run. I can run 7.5km without stopping and though I remain slightly doubtful I have the mental strength to do 12km, I know that Hien will have me fit and ready to run on the day and I will cross that finish line because he believes I can.

I have known Hien as a person that is truly passionate about fitness, feeling healthy and being healthy. Over the past few months I have had the pleasure of training with Hien and for those who have had the same experience with him they would agree with me that he is an excellent motivator, with great enthusiasm and is an inspiration to others.

Hiens warm, caring and cheerful manner can be seen in an instant. He has the ability to know persons capabilities and will push them to their furthest point and more.

What makes things better is that Hien communicates with me in a friendly and sociable manner, this helps immensely because I usually find personal trainers to be quite intimidating.

I once was certain that some things are just impossible to achieve. But with Hiens positive attitude towards any situation, I find it admirable and he has made me believe in myself and that anything is possible once I set my heart and mind into it. Hien gives me that little push to go a little bit further because what he says is that there is no finish line, so just keep going. I look forward to our training sessions all the time because it’s the feeling of accomplishment that I am guaranteed to get back by the end of each one.

I have no hesitation in assuring to you that Hien is a person of great character who would make an excellent contribution to this environment in which he is placed and without question, where he belongs.

Recently I became engaged to my partner Damien and Hien attended our Engagement Party. The night before, I tried on an outfit I had not previously worn for over 3 years. It fitted. I had been training religiously with Hien for 4 months and the results were amazing. I received many compliments on my appearance – I felt confident and delighted that all the hard work had paid off. I was also excited that Damien and I could share our Engagement with our trainer and friend, Hien.

Hien’s motivation and dedication to push his clients beyond their perceived abilities is astounding. Hien has been training me for the last 5 months and Damien for the past 12. He successfully changed Damien’s perception of fitness, ability and completely altered his attitude towards life. In the last 6 months Damien and I have completed 4 hikes, one of which was 8 days long. For myself, Hien has been a supportive, understanding and fun training partner. Beyond the gym, Hien encourages his clients to eat well and maintain good training habits. Hien’s approach to training is far more holistic than any personal trainer I have encountered. This is possibly why he is such a popular and successful trainer. I look forward to my sessions at the gym as I feel as if I am training with a friend rather than a “PT”.

I am achieving far more that I ever would have imagined and am becoming stronger, leaner, fitter and enjoying the confidence that comes with success.

I have been training with Hien for about 9 months. During this time my fitness and strength has improved dramatically. When I started with Hien he showed me my current fitness levels and where I could improve. Hien show extensive knowledge in his field and provided a program well suited to my needs.

Training with Hien is fun and rewarding making it feel like I’m hanging out with a friend rather than doing a chore. When I first started my training my goal was just to lose weight and raise my fitness.

Now I have a career goal which means my fitness needs to be more specific. Hien has now changed my training to suit my new goal needs so that I can reach my peak fitness. Hien is a friendly, knowledgeable, dedicated trainer who makes you feel comfortable and helps you to reach your goals. I would recommend him to anyone.

He has challenged my capability to achieve my set goals in fitness to a new level, and these achievements have been transferred to my professional attitude.
